History and Architecture:
Early in 1862 a committee was formed to establish how many followers of the faith were in the region. By April of the same year an application for a grant of land was made. Monthly services were commenced and conducted by Reverend T.B. Garlick on Avoca and Reverend W. Hall of Kingower.*
Tenders were called in 1864 for a church that could hold 250 persons, should not exceed 800 the walls needed to be 22 Inched thick and the roof made of slate. The Foundation stone was laid on 16 September 1864. The Architect were Freemasons Dean and Clergy and the builder was William Kell.*
The first service in the new church was held on 23 July 1866.

Organ:
Built in 1868 it was in St Mary's Church Caulfield until 1875. It was re built by George Fincham and offered to St Arnaud for £160.*
