A Historical marker 54 reads, " Mortdale Baptist Church The first church was built in 1903 at the corner of Pitt Street and the Strand. In 1926 the Church and Hall were moved to the corner of Boundary Road and Woronora Parade. A new brick Church was opened in 1928 and was enlarged in 1958. Hurstville Municipal Council, Hurstville Historical Society".
A Foundation stone reads, " This stone was set to the Glory of God by the Rev John Baillie Pastor on 15th October 1927".
