History and Architecture:
An article in The Methodist, Saturday, 10 April, 1915 reads, " NEW CHURCH AT COFFS HARBOUR Mr. A. J. Cutler, Home Missionary at Coffs Harbour, writes: The new church now in course of erection and of which a photograph is herewith supplied is Methodism's answer to those letters which appeared in Sydney at the beginning of last year, protesting against the appointment of a home missionary to Coffs Harbour on the grounds that there were not sufficient Methodists in the place. When finished it will be one of the finest on the North Coast. Its height is 40 ft., width 25 ft., with good sized vestry at the rear. All the timber is of 'blue gum, including the lining, which will be stained and varnished. Not a penny has been paid in wages to any one; so far we have raised, including a small loan, over £100. We hope to have the building completed in less than three months".
The original Methodist buildings are still in use as well as the current church, built in 1970. A plaque reads, "This building was erected to the Glory of God that the Good News of Jesus Christ be proclaimed to this Community, by Word, Sacrament, and Service. Dedicated 31st October 1970. Hallelujah! Jesus is alive".
